A record of how we write

How Dormant Data Partners handles source material, AI-assisted drafting, human review, illustrative examples and corrections.

Purpose and scope

Our archive notes explain inventory, provenance and preparation. They are general working guides, not a legal opinion, a rights clearance or a valuation of a particular collection.

Sources and research

This edition carries forward the supplied Dormant Data Partners articles and service descriptions dated 25 October 2026. Those source documents do not include a research bibliography or a record of independent expert review. We do not present them as independently verified case studies.

For updates, the editorial standard is to prefer primary documentation: the relevant institution’s preservation guidance, format specifications, original agreements and applicable regulator publications. A source should support the particular claim, with its date and scope recorded. Where evidence is incomplete, the uncertainty should be stated rather than filled with an invented fact.

The Digital Preservation Coalition handbook is a public reference for preservation concepts. The W3C PROV overview describes a provenance model. These references provide further reading; they are not evidence that a specific archive is recoverable or cleared for reuse.

AI assistance and human checking

AI assistance was used to structure this website, adapt supplied copy to the new navigation, and draft the recovery planner and these policy pages. That assistance is not subject-matter verification.

Our publication standard calls for a responsible human reviewer to compare factual claims to their sources, check technical instructions and examples, and refer legal or privacy interpretations to qualified specialists. A completed human subject-matter review has not been recorded for this edition. No individual author, expert endorsement or review credential is implied.

Examples and dates

Fabricated teaching specimens are labelled “Illustrative example.” Sample sizes and schedules are illustrative, not measured client results or delivery promises. We do not invent transactions, customers, valuations or testimonials.

Article publication and update dates retain the supplied frontmatter dates. Route and formatting changes are recorded in the document colophon; they are not described as new subject-matter research.

Corrections

Send the page URL, the passage in question and any supporting source to hello@dormantdatapartners.com. We will assess the issue, correct supported errors and record substantive revisions with an updated date and a short correction note. Requests involving confidential material should begin with a high-level description.

The recovery planner

The planner is a deterministic checklist generator, not an AI assessment of your files. Its inputs, rule order, limitations and data handling are explained in the planner methodology.
